Brass Band Festival committee needs volunteers

The Great American Brass Band Festival Committee announced today that the festival dates will be June 14-15.

John Albright, chairman, said, "We are confident our community will be very pleased with the 13th annual event we are planning."

Volunteers are stepping forward to help with the planning as a show of support for Danville's signature event. "The planning committee is being expanded, and we are thrilled at the response we have seen from the community," said Kay Berggren.

The committee's partnership continues with Norton Center and with Centre College. Although he has resigned from the committee, "Music Man" George Foreman, director of Norton Center, will continue to lend his special brand of expertise to this year's event by securing and scheduling the bands and arranging for the design of shirts, pins and posters.

Volunteers will be needed to help organize and put on the Brass Band Festival. Please call 236-7794 or 236-1118 to volunteer for this year's festival.
