GABBF 1999

This year's festival will be held June 11-13, (this is the weekend BEFORE Father's Day weekend). We hope to see you there for all the fun! You won't want to miss it!

This year's festival is a special one indeed. It will be the 10th Great American Brass Band Festival. In celebration of this milestone, we will feature several bands and performers that have been favorites over the years, including Mr. Jack Daniel's Original Silver Cornet Band, the Olympia Brass Band from New Orleans, ragtime pianist Scott Kirby, and Danville's own Advocate Brass Band. Among the bands that are new to the festival are the Canadian Staff Band of the Salvation Army from Toronto, the Illinois Brass Band from Chicago, and one of our country's most outstanding military bands, the Band of the Air Force Reserve from Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. And that's just part of the exciting line up. In all, 18 bands will be here to entertain during this unique weekend.
During its first decade, the Great American Brass Band Festival has attracted more than a quarter of a million visitors from throughout the United States and abroad. It is truly ``America's greatest band concert in the park,'' and has been featured in articles in major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, and Southern Living.
