The Great American Red Wagon Decorating Contest - beginning at 9:30 a.m. wagons will be judged and awards presented at Constitution Square State Park, then showcased during the 11 a.m. parade. Call the Community Arts Center @ 236-4054 or visit the website by clicking the link below to download complete rules and an entry form or for more information. There is a $5 entry fee per wagon. Registration is limited to the first 75 entries. Entry deadline is June 6.

Thursday, June 11 THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED! Chautauqua Tea 2 & 3 p.m. - 2 p.m. Tea, Toy Box Catering, Main Street, Danville; 3 p.m. Chautauqua Presentation, Community Arts Center, Main St. This year the Chautauqua program will continue to entice people to come out and enjoy a lovely tea and performance by the Terry Everson (accompanied by Dick Domek). Reservations: $20.00 Call 800-755-0076 or 859-236-7794. Tickets are available at Grayson's Tavern on Constitution Square State Historic Site. Bourbon, and Brass 5:30-9:30 p.m. - Beaumont Inn, Harrodsburg. Spend an evening celebrating the unique tastes of Kentucky with the State’s finest bourbons while supporting The Great American Brass Band Festival. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. Tickets are available at Grayson's Tavern on Constitution Square State Historic Site. Friday, June 12 Brass History Conference 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Danville High School. The 2009 Band History Conference celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the GABBF and the close connection the Conference has had with the Festival. Sessions are designed to include lecture, film and performance from famous conductors, music historians and performers. The Great Americn Doll House Museum Historical Presentation - 10:00-Noon. - 344 Swope Drive, Danville. Come and spend the morning at The Doll House Museum learning about the history of the Museum, the historical timeline of the displays and the history of the Festival. The cost is $15 per person, which includes the talk, lunch and a tour of the Museum. For registration information call 859-583-8000 or go to www.thedollhousemuseum.com. NEW EVENT!! Luncheon Concert noon-1:30 p.m. The Great Americn Doll House Museum, 344 Swope Drive, Danville. Come and bring a picnic lunch and enjoy free music on the beautiful lawn of The Great American Doll House Museum. The Museum will be open for visitors. This performance is free and open to the public. Great American Balloon Race 5 p.m. - Gates open, Stuart Powell Field 7 pm - Official balloon lift-off to target Take a picnic basket and look to the sky. Both parking and admission are free. NOTE: In case of rain, the race will be rescheduled for Sunday evening. Gallery Hop Stops 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, June 12. Storefronts and galleries along or near Main Street will host local artists with exhibits of their latest work. Celebrating 20 Years of the Great American Brass Band Festival 6-8 p.m. Community Arts Center. The 20th Anniversary Show & Artist Reception with David Farmer, the 2009 Great American Brass Band Festival Commemorative Poster artist. Farmer will be available to sign your purchases. The 20th Anniversary Show features wonderful memories and unique pieces covering the 20 year span of the Festival and is available for viewing through the month of June. Free Evening Band Performances 6:30-8:30 p.m. - Beaumont Inn, Harrodsburg; 8-10 p.m. Weisiger Park, downtown Danville. Race day fee, $15. Brass Master Clinic - 9-10:30 a.m. Danville High School. Join Rhythm & Brass for a free clinic on brass technique and musicianship. Bring your instrument, music you are currently working on, and come prepared to learn from one of our country's renowned performing groups. Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba and Percussion break-out sessions. The Master Clinic is for musicians and music lovers of all ages and performance levels. Sunday, June 14 Outdoor Worship Service 9:30 am - Main Stage, Centre College The Danville community and its churches come together to invite all our guests for an ecumenical worship service, accompanied by inspirational brass band music.
