Tips for taking better photosBy CLAY JACKSON Here are a few tips that I use to get take better photos. * Take lots of photos — this will ensure several images to keep for your album or the wall. Film is cheap and today digital is even cheaper! * Take at least three different angles of each subject. Get close, move around the subject, get down below or above the subject. Don’t be afraid to get down on you knees or even lay on the ground. Also back up so that you get a wide view of everything you want. * Look at all four corners of the view finder while taking photos. One reason is make sure that no one has a pole or a tree sticking out of his head. If you do see something that you don’t like, get closer or move the subject to a better place. This also helps your composition. * Make sure you use your equipment right. If you are using film, make sure you use the right speed film so that later you will be happy with enlargements. If you have a flash, make sure it is turned on if you’re focusing on your subject. Don’t use the flash if you more than 30 feet from the subject because it probably won’t reach that far. * Get closer. If you’re taking family pictures get closer so that you can see faces. A good rule is to make sure the face is the size of a dime or larger. But sometimes rules can be broken if you have a reason. Also don’t forget to take a photo of the photographer in your family.
