The Chautauqua Tea performance will be held at 4 p.m. June 8 at The West T. Hill Community Theatre. Immediately following the performance, a tea and meal will be served at The Tea Leaf, located at 230 W. Broadway. Tickets are $13 each. Reservations are necessary. Call 236-7456.
2000 MenuTea theme: Orange Tea Mini-orange scones, orange-chocolate truffles, orange-coconut balls, pecan tarts, fruit kebabs, hot or cold orange-spiced tea, benedictine sandwiches, mini-vegetable tarts in phyllo pastries, chicken salad puffs, pimento cheese ribbons and BLT mini-sandwiches. |

The event recreates the atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century afternoon tea and a Chautauqua gathering, where traveling companies brought cultural events to rural areas.
The festival itself will be held June 9-11.
One-half of the proceeds go to the Brass Band Festival.
