

By combining the dynamic sound of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba with
the energy of guitar, keyboards and percussion, Conversation is the most
innovative brass ensemble on the music scene today. The many styles of Conversation
range from bold and exciting to lyrical and reflective, as the group performs
exciting original works along with works by some of the greatest composers
of yesterday and today. With years of experience behind them, members of
Conversation have worked with some of the hottest entertainers of our time.
This exciting combination of brass and rhythm unites with the distinctive
talents of these artists to create a concert that will captivate their audience
from the first note.
Conversation places great emphasis on the education of young musicians through
clinics, master classes and residencies. This forum affords the opportunity
for them to share their knowledge and expertise, as well as to speak one
on one with young people, providing a positive role model. The music of
Conversation is sure to be a significant contribution to the repertoire
for intermediate through college level ensembles (The Conversation Series
available through Aardvark Publications.
Each member of Conversation brings exceptional talent and a wealth of experience
to the stage.
Jim Williamson has performed and recorded with B.B. King and the Muscle
Shoals Horns. He has appeared on TV specials with Reba McIntyre, Louise
Mandrell and Lee Greenwood along with being professor of trumpet at The
University of Tennessee. Jim is one of the primary writers of original compositions
performed by Conversation.
Richard Aspinwall is a writer, guitar player, producer and engineer who
has contributed to three Grammy winning albums, as well as several #1 Billboard
records. Garth Brooks, Chet Atkins, Nanci Griffith and Emilou Harris are
only a few of the artists with whom Richard has had the opportunity to work.
Eddie Tobin has been heard throughout the United States as well as in many
other countries as a solo pianist. Eddie has traveled as keyboardist with
The Forester Sisters and as keyboardist and arranger for Brenda Lee. Jeff
Lloyd was a busy freelance musician in Phoenix, Arizona, before moving to
Nashville, Tenn. Jeff is now an active studio and club percussionist who
is also busy playing shows and traveling with various artists in the Nashville
area.
Vinnie Ciesielski is a trumpeter in great demand in Nashville. He has toured
with Lyle Lovett and Shelby Lynne along with many TV appearances with both
bands. Vinnie can be heard on many TV and radio jingles as well as Tanya
Tucker's latest CD (soon to be released).
Trombonist Bill Huber has performed with James Brown, Manhiem Steamroller,
Henry Mancini and The Lawrence Welk Orchestra to name just a few. Bill is
also a member of The Firehouse Four, Opryland's popular Dixieland band.
Horn player Ed Nagel spent 10 years with the US Air Force Band of Flight
performing throughout the United States and Canada. Ed has also performed
with Glen Campbell, Andy Williams, Mac Davis and Bobby Shew.
The foundation of Conversation's sound is tuba man Joe Murphy. Joe has
a great deal of studio experience both on tuba and bass. He has toured and
made TV appearances as bass player with Mike Reid. He also has been an entertainer
at Opryland USA spent four years with the US Air Force Band of Flight. Joe
is a talented writer whose original compositions are performed by Conversation.
