2006 Band History Conference

Centre College and the Great American Brass Band Festival invite you to participate in this unique conference devoted to American Band History.

Event date: Friday, June 9 

The theme of this year's conference will be The March and the World of Brass.

The March and the World of Brass
Musical marches is one of the few original American musical art forms with there composers contributing to development of brass band music. Our 2006 Band History Conference will cover such topics as Circus Marches, marches composed by John Philip Sousa and C.L. Barnhouse, and the marches of the American Civil War.

Learn from Top Musicians and Scholars
Learn about how marches were writing and interpretation from some of the most noted members of the musical community.
