2005 Band History Conference

Centre College and the Great American Brass Band Festival invite you to participate in this unique conference devoted to American Band History.

This theme of this year's conference will be Virtuosi Brass Solo Performers.

Virtuosi Brass Solo Performers
As their musical stylings have helped to shape brass band music as we know it today, Virtuosi Brass Solo Performers are a highly influential group of contributors t the development of brass band music. Our 2005 Band History Conference will cover such topics as American comet virtuosos, great women brass soloists, early brass band instruments, and great American euphonium soloists.

Learn from Top Musicians and Scholar
Gain insight into the world of the virtuosi soloists from some of the most noted members of the musical community, including a former NABBA president, the world's most traveled euphonium player, a Grammy award winner, brass band competition winners, and the Chief Music Librarian for the United States Marine Band.

Exciting performances will include an internationally regarded trumpet/cornet soloist, a premiere euphonium soloist, a special outside concert by an all women British style brass band, and a chamber concert by an internationally recognized brass band group.
