Hall of Fame

The Great
American Brass Band Festival Hall of Fame was created to recognize
individuals or organizations for their special efforts and commitment
to the success of the festival.
Inductees:
2006
- Mary Schurz
Mary Schurz,
chairman and editor emeritus of The Advocate-Messenger and The Kentucky
Advocate; secretary and a member of the festival's executive committee.

2007
- Vince
DiMartino and George Foreman
Vince
DiMartino is a widely-renowned trumpet performer and educator. The
Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at Centre College, where he teaches
trumpet, brass and jazz history today. He's also the coordinator of the
Centre College Instrumental Program and Co-director of The Advocate
Brass Band.
George
Foreman currently serves as the managing director of the Norton Center
for the Arts at Centre College, where he is also an associate professor
of humanities. From 1987 to 2006, Foreman served as the director for
The Advocate Brass Band.

- Jerry Boyd
Former
teacher and coach Jerry Boyd is known for his hard-working and humble
spirit behind the scenes of the Great American Brass Band Festival.
